My Story
My path to public service began at the University of Chicago, where I earned my BA in Economics with a minor in Statistics. After graduation, I launched my career in finance while simultaneously beginning my advocacy work with the National Organization for Women—a dual commitment that would define my approach to creating change through both professional expertise and grassroots organizing.
Then came 2016. Like millions of Americans, I felt the ground shift beneath my feet. But rather than retreat, I made a promise to myself: I wouldn't let this moment pass without taking meaningful action. I threw myself into organizing, focusing especially on women's rights and LGBTQ equality.
The work was both challenging and rewarding. I raised critical funds for reproductive healthcare access, took on a men's rights activist in a televised debate on Chicago's WTTW, and played a key role in the coalition that successfully passed Illinois's Reproductive Health Act. Throughout this intensely active period, I also pursued my Master's in Applied Data Science from the University of Chicago, strengthening my ability to turn data into policy solutions.
When my husband's career brought us to Colorado in July 2020, I saw it as an opportunity to expand my impact in a new community. I quickly engaged with local advocacy, serving as Secretary of the Northern Colorado Chapter of NOW and representing the western district on the national board of NOW. I also became deeply involved with the Broomfield Democrats, eventually joining their board.
In February 2023, I was appointed to Broomfield City Council and was shortly thereafter duly elected that November. As a council member, I've championed the issues that matter most to our community: affordable housing, inclusivity, environmental sustainability, and transparent governance. My service extends beyond council meetings through my work on various boards and commissions focused on preserving open space, fostering inter-city collaboration, and improving our infrastructure.
My journey has been guided by one constant: the belief that effective change requires both passionate advocacy and practical expertise. Now, I'm ready to bring this combination of experience to serve our community at the next level.
